Wild Horse Heaven and Cowgirls Up 2008

Day before trip:
We STRONGLY RECOMMEND that guests arrive in Pinedale, Wyoming today.   Transportation into Pinedale can be arranged.

Day 1

3:00 p.m. All guests board Cowboy Camp shuttle for drive to camp. Roundup shuttle fee paid directly.
5:30 p.m. Guests arrive at the Cowboy Camp on the Continental Divide near Bush Rim.
6:30 p.m. Dinner

Day 2

8:00 a.m. Breakfast in camp
9:00 a.m. Horse orientation session, fundamental horsemanship lessons, trail etiquette, safety instructions.
12:00 p.m. Buffet lunch in camp
1:00-4:00 p.m. Afternoon ride to acquaint guests with their horses and equipment, safety techniques.
4:00-5:00 p.m. Appetizers and BYOB refreshments at camp
6:00-7:00 p.m Dinner
7:00-9:00 p.m. Conversation & a little good music around the campfire, final instructions for next days’ ride
9:00 p.m. Better hit the hay, it’s going to be a long day tomorrow!

Day 3

6:00 a.m. Coffee is ready, time to get up!
6:30 a.m. Hearty, working Cowboy breakfast
7:00 a.m. Catch and saddle horses, load personal gear, lunch, etc., on your saddle
7:30 a.m. Leave out from camp for morning ride on top of the Continental Divide.
10:30 a.m. Ride back to camp. During the mid-day heat, guests can relax, shower, read or have a horsemanship lesson if desired. Buffet lunch at noon, good conversation always available.
3:00-4:00 p.m. Appetizers
5:00–6:00 p.m. Dinner is ready around the campfire
6:30–9:30 p.m. Take a night ride; yes, horses can see very well in the dark & the moon and stars are spectacular.
9:00 p.m. Campfire entertainment, BYOB cocktails 10:00 p.m. – Days’ end, time to rest.

Day 4

6:00 a.m. Coffee is ready, time to get up!
6:30 a.m. Hearty, working Cowboy breakfast
7:00 a.m. Catch and saddle horses, load personal gear, lunch, etc., on your saddle
7:30 a.m. Ride out across the desert floor, see some new country, look for more horses
10:30 a.m. Ride back to camp to relax during mid-day heat. There are usually chores to be done with the saddle horses and guests are welcome to participate in those. And again, horsemanship lessons are available.
4:00-5:00 p.m. Appetizers
5:30–6:30 p.m. Dinner
7:30–9:30 p.m. Evening ride, view and photograph wild horses as they come in to water, enjoy the Wyoming sunset.
10:00 p.m. Sleep out under the stars tonight and get ready for a big day tomorrow.

Day 5

5:30 a.m. Early wakeup, the coffee is ready!
6:00 a.m. Hearty, working Cowboy breakfast
6:30 a.m. Catch and saddle horses, load personal gear, lunch, etc., on your saddle.
7:00 a.m. Ride out from camp toward Oregon Buttes to find wild horses, all day away from camp. The entire group will stop sometime at midday for lunch, no preset time.
4:00 p.m. Arrive back at camp
4:00-5:00 p.m. Appetizers and BYOB refreshments at camp
6:00-7:00 p.m. Dinner
7:00-9:00 p.m. Campfire entertainment and recounting of the day’s big ride. Tomorrow you can sleep in, so stay up a little later.

Day 6

7:30 a.m. Coffee and breakfast are ready, if you are up and around.
9:00 a.m. All guests board Cowboy Camp shuttle for drive back to Pinedale. Roundtrip shuttle fee paid directly. It's been a fun and exciting week of great riding and good company!
11:30 a.m. All guests arrive back in Pinedale, Wyoming and you're on your own.
*Daily Schedule is tentative and changes may be made to address weather and other factors.

August 29-Sept 4 (experienced riders)
September 7-13 (experienced riders)
